On May 7, 2011, AmeriCorps Improving Health Throughout Indiana hosted its first AmeriCorps Week Event at Bryan Park here in Bloomington. Making PACES (Parents and Children Exercising Simultaneously) was a free, one-day family fun event focused on healthy, active lifestyles. The event was designated a “Let’s Move” event in collaboration with Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move Campaign to end childhood obesity. Activities included sports competitions with Indiana University athletes and AmeriCorps members, relay races, ZUMBA and yoga demonstrations, healthy snacks and much more! It was a complete success even though rain became a factor toward the end of the event.
Below you will see all the photos from the PACES Event. Be sure to take a look at the all the amazing engagement from everyone!
Congratulations on our AmeriCorps members Kelszie Phillips, Kinsey Gray, Andrew Watson, Kerry Anderson, Jessica Bare, Brittany Gross, Julie Wirthwein and a special guest from Michael Menafee. Erin Cooperman, our Program Coordinator even made an appearance. We are very proud of the success of the event and look forward to next year’s AmeriCorps Week already!
